Joan B. Daignault, 89, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 2008, formerly of Bethel, CT passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 under the care of Hope Hospice, Fort Myers, FL. She was born July 6, 1932 in Stamford, CT to the late Herman J. and Germaine (nee Roberts) Beaudoin.

Joan was a devout Catholic woman who loved her faith. She was a fierce advocate for the dignity of life, especially the unborn. She loved children, most especially her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren with a special kind of love…and they all knew just how much they were loved by her. Her favorite hobby was playing cards with her sisters and losing was not an option.

She was a homemaker until her children were off to school and then started a work career first at Weston Woods Publishing, Weston, CT, and then at Union Savings Bank in Danbury, CT until she retired in 2004. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew Alphonse Daignault.

Joan is survived by her loving children, Joan Laracy ( John) of Paxton, MA, Daniel Daignault of New Milford, CT and Douglas Daignault of Newton, CT; three sisters, Shirley Demet of Milford, CT, Claire Meyer of New Fairfield, CT and Michelle Jakielo of Wethersfie­ld, CT; six grandchild­ren, Kyle, Brendan, Katelyn, Jaime, Alexander and Luc; eight great-grandchild­ren, Mariana, Stella, Julia, Brenna, Elizabeth, Clare, Jack and Maggie; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church , 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Followed by burial in St. Johns Cemetery Norwalk, CT.
