Water main project to improve distribution, reliability
Residents should expect minor traffic delays, detours
NEW MILFORD – Aquarion Water Company will perform water infrastructure work in town to ensure continued system reliability, starting this Monday.
Crews will clean and line about 1,290 feet of water main on Harmony Trail, according to Aquarion. The project is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system, ensure the highest quality water and reduce leaks and water main breaks that can cause service interruptions, the company states.
Paganelli Construction Corporation of Windsor Locks and Michels Corporation of Watertown will serve as the contractors for the project.
The project is expected to be completed by August. Final paving will be scheduled in coordination with the town.
“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” stated Aquarion’s manager of utility programs Justin Xenelis. “We will work closely with our customers, contractors and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”
Customers should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours due to construction during the working hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Aquarion utilizes an Everbridge notification system to keep customers informed about any scheduled and unscheduled work. The company encourages customers to sign up for the notification service on Aquarion’s website.
