Jeanette A. Beylouni, 98 of Danbury, beloved wife of

59 years to the late George Beylouni, Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11,

2018. She was born in Antioch, Turkey (Syria) on September 21,

1919. She is the daughter of late Albert and Nadema Attick of Danbury. Mrs. Beylouni arrived to the United States when she was eight years old, and attended St.Joseph’s school. She later married George Beylouni, Sr. and moved to Bridgeport, CT where her three children were born. She shortly moved back to Danbury where she resided for the last 73 years.

Much of her active life started on Elm Street, where she raised her children, worked alongside her husband at the corner grocery store, and visited with her neighbors who were “next door”. Jeanette was a lifelong member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox church. She served and was a member of the Ladies Society and an honorable member of St. Ignatius of Antioch. She was a generous supporter of many charitable organizations notably DATAR (Ability Beyond). Her greatest asset was her open-door policy at home. Everyone was welcome, and she made sure food was on the table. She was an avid cook and gardener, loved to play cards, and always willing to entertain those who lived near her, and many who lived abroad.

Her family will always remember her as a good listener, loved to welcome newcomers to the area, and always had time to help those in need. Jeanette always had a positive attitude with great faith and to her, nothing was impossible. Her smile, graciousness, and hospitality was the most notable impression she left on people. She enjoyed vacationing at Hilton Head Island with her family for over 18 years. She managed to continue to travel up until her

95th year.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: son Raymond predeceased three years earlier, surviving son George Beylouni from Atlanta, GA, and her daughter Victoria Beylouni of Danbury. She is also survived by her brother, Nicholas Attick, her daughter in law, Bonnie Beylouni, her grandchildren David Beylouni, Darren Beylouni, Dayna Beylouni White, Danielle Beylouni Cone, Rudolph Atallah, Natasha Collura (Atallah), Selden Beylouni Ulio, and her predeceased grandson, John Beylouni of Atlanta. Her 11 great grandchildren Mackenzie, Madison, and Morgan Cone, Eva and Logan Beylouni, Hannah and Ethan Collura, David and Andrew Beylouni, Adriana and John Clemente Ulio. Her life and legacy has touched many lives and her memory will be eternal.

The Rite of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 125 Kohanza St., Danbury.
