CTRAIL HARTFORD LINE RIDERS TURNED AWAY

-

Riders have been turned away from a new commuter rail line after it reached capacity on its second day.

Officials tweeted Sunday that the CTrail Hartford Line exceeded capacity at 1 p.m., and trains were only being used to return riders to their original destination.

Additional trains were added to the line, and buses were dispatched to Hartford Union Station.

More than 10,000 passengers rode the rail line during its opening day Saturday. Free rides were being offered during the weekend on the line linking New Haven, Hartford and Springfield, Massachusetts.

One-way tickets will cost $8.
