Brookfield soccer team wins NYCSL Final Four title
The Brookfield Soccer Club U11 boys premier team captured the New York Club Soccer League Final Four Championship earlier this month, winning a thrilling a penalty-kick shootout in the final to secure the title.
In order to qualify for the Final Four, the Brookfield team first had to win the Connecticut Club Soccer League title, which it did with a 6-0-2 record. The Final Four consisted of the CCSL champion, along with the winners of the New York Soccer League’s Metropolitan North Division, its Metropolitan South Division and its Premier League.
In the Final Four semifinals, Brookfield defeated the New York Kosmos of the Metropolitan South Division, 2-1. Brookfield then played FC Somers in the championship game. The score was tied 3-3 heading into the penalty-kick shootout, which Brookfield won 4-2 to win the championship.
This U11 Brookfield team is coached by a premier soccer organization called Liberty Football Academy. LFA provides professional soccer coaching to players in Fairfield County and works directly with the Brookfield Soccer Club’s in-house and travel programs. Founded in 2013, with the support of friends and families, President Scott Wright has grown Liberty Football Academy into a premier soccer club. With the help of its prepremier program which caters to 4-10-year-olds, LFA begins its premier teams starting at the U11 age level.
