- aquinn@newstimes.com

Steep Rock Association in Washington is sponsoring a Judea Garden photo contest.

Photographers of all ages are invited to interpret the essence of Judea Garden. Images will be judged and first-place winners will receive gift certificates and publication of their photos.

Photos must be taken in or of Judea Garden and submitted to the Steep Rock Association office Mondays through Fridays by Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.

Winners will be announced at a special reception at the historic Camp Farmhouse Oct. 13 and remain on exhibit through Oct. 27.

Photographs will be accepted in four categories: adult, color; adult, black and white; 14 and under, color; and 14 and under, black and white. Photographs must be ready to hang and must include a label with the photographer’s name, name of the piece, and category. The maximum size of entry is 16x20, including mat; all photographs must be matted or mounted.

No loose prints will be accepted.

An entry form, found at www.steeprockassoc.org, must be completed and a digital copy of the print submitted with each admission.

When visiting Judea Garden, photographers are asked to: close the garden gate securely to deter rabbits from getting in; wander on the paths but not in the garden beds; and keep pets outside the garden to protect the growing plants and for the safety of the recipients of the produce.
