DANBURY WOMAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES
Wilton police said a Danbury woman admitted to smoking marijuana laced with PCP after police pulled her over for erratic driving.
Denita Sherman, 42, of 5th Avenue, was driving north on Danbury Road when police observed her swerving in and out of her lane.
Police said they tried to pull Sherman over, but she continued to drive for about a mile before stopping.
While speaking to Sherman, police reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.
Police said Sherman later confessed she had smoked laced marijuana about an hour prior. A search of the car later revealed a small amount of marijuana.
Sherman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, failure to return an expired license and failure to maintain the proper lane. She was held on a $260 bond and was scheduled to appear in court last week.
