Dan­bury po­lice nab sus­pected drug dealer, cus­tomer

De­tec­tives be­gan in­ves­ti­gat­ing Perez-Hi­no­josa, also known as “MVP,” after re­ceiv­ing cit­i­zen com­plaints that he had been sell­ing drugs from his base­ment apart­ment.

DAN­BURY — A week­s­long in­ves­ti­ga­tion into a sus­pected Dan­bury drug dealer led to two ar­rests Thurs­day.

Ariel Perez-Hi­no­josa, 23, was ar­rested on a series of drug-re­lated of­fenses after in­ves­ti­ga­tors searched his Di­vi­sion Street apart­ment on Thurs­day af­ter­noon and dis­cov­ered more than an ounce of sus­pected fen­tanyl, drug para­phena­lia and hun­dreds of dol­lars in cash, Lt. Mark Wil­liams said Fri­day morn­ing.

Ni­cholas Vito Alosco, 29, of Bethel, was ar­rested for posses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance after of­fi­cers ob­served him pur­chas­ing drugs from Perez-Hi­no­josa, ac­cord­ing to a news release.

De­tec­tives be­gan in­ves­ti­gat­ing Perez-Hi­no­josa, also known as “MVP,” after re­ceiv­ing cit­i­zen com­plaints that he had been sell­ing drugs from his base­ment apart­ment.

Po­lice be­gan surveilling the apart­ment around 10 a.m. Thurs­day and wit­nessed Perez-Hi­no­josa and Alosco make a hand-to­hand trans­ac­tion, ac­cord­ing to in­ves­ti­ga­tors.

Of­fi­cers then ex­e­cuted search war­rants on the apart­ment, Perez-Hi­no­josa’s car and his cell­phone Thurs­day af­ter­noon and dis­cov­ered the il­le­gal items.

Alosco faces a sin­gle charge of posses­sion and was re­leased with a writ­ten prom­ise to ap­pear.

Perez-Hi­no­josa is be­ing held on a $100,000 bond and faces eight charges re­lated to the posses­sion and sale of a con­trolled sub­stance, in­clud­ing within 1,500 feet of a school be­cause of its prox­im­ity to Park Av­enue El­e­men­tary School.
