Donald W. Pratt, 93, of Freeport, ME, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 2, 2018. He was born on October 2, 1925 in New Haven, CT to the late Milton and Ruth Pratt.

Don was drafted to the United States Navy in 1943 and served during WWII as a quartermas­ter on the USS Rolf DE-362, which toured the South Pacific.

After an honorable discharge he earned his Bachelor Degree at UCONN and a fifth year degree at New Haven Teachers College. He was an elementary teacher in Connecticu­t for 33 years.

Don was an active outdoorsma­n, spending much of his life leading YMCA summer camp and AMC canoe trips.

Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia, with whom he spent 34 years raising their family in Connecticu­t before retiring to Maine in 1986; and their four sons: Curtis (Sharyn) of NY, Alan (Kathy) of ME, Glenn (Sandy) of MA, and Jeffrey (Nadine) of CT. He is also survived by 9 grandchild­ren and 1 great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on December

14, 2018 at First Parish Church, Brunswick, ME; reception following. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME.
