Those who regularly travel out of Bradley International Airport will have three additional nonstop routes and one new airline to choose from later this year.

Officials with the Connecticut Airport Authority, which oversees operation of the Windsor Locks airport, announced that Frontier Airlines is adding nonstop flights to Orlando, Fla., and RaleighDurham, N.C., this spring. The airport also is adding service from Via Airlines, which will debut nonstop service to Pittsburgh later this year.

Denver-based Frontier Airlines announced last month it would begin serving travelers out of Bradley in late March, starting with nonstop flights to Denver. Frontier will become the ninth airline to fly out of Bradley.

“We are excited to see Frontier Airlines’ expansion at Bradley International Airport,” Kevin A. Dillon, executive director of the airport authority, said in a statement.

Frontier’s service to RaleighDurham International Airport will begin April 30 and will operate seasonally on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The airline’s service between Bradley and Orlando will start May 1 and will operate seasonally on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Via Airlines will make its debut Bradley on July 22 and fly from Connecticut on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays year-round. It serves a total of 19 cities.

Dillon said the announcement of Via adding Bradley to its list of destinations “starts the year on a high note.”

“Pittsburgh is an important destination, especially for those traveling on business,” he said.

Via, which began operating in 1997 and is based in Orlando, add- ed Bradley as one of its destination as part of a larger expansion the airline announced Wednesday. The airline uses smaller jets, some with 50 seats and others with 30.

Via also announced nonstop flights between Pittsburgh and two other Southern destinations, Memphis, Tenn., and Birmingham, Ala.

Bradley is New England’s second-largest airport, serving nearly 7 million travelers each year.
