Danbury – Mr. Efthemious Chamoures, age 88, of Danbury passed away suddenly on Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Danbury Hospital. He was predecease­d by the love of his life, Frances (Haigh) Chamoures.

Mr. Chamoures was born October 26, 1930 in Danbury son of the late James and Evanthea (Gounoukake­s) Chamoures. He had several nicknames (Tim, Jimmy, Themie or Sam). He retired in 1992 from The City of Danbury. He loved the outdoors fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching his grandchild­ren play sports, playing games and cards. He was a devoted Yankee fan.

Mr. Chamoures proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Chamoures is survived by his children: Tammy Post (Larry), Timmy Chamoures (Florence) and Tina O’Brien (Dan), his sister: Mary Carawlanis, his sisters in law: Mercene Chamoures and Marion Otto. His grandchild­ren: Lauren Manzi (Mike), Lindsey Post, Stephanie Patterson (Mike), Alyssa Sidorick (Chris) and Bradley O’Brien, his great grandson: Trey Patterson and several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his brother Andrew Chamoures.

Mr. Chamoures’ family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home on Monday January 28, 2019 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury.
