PERFORMANC­ES OF THE WEEK

Kaitlyn Mooney, Coast Guard and Ivie Uzamere, Wesleyan: Mooney won the women’s 5,000 meters in a Division III Indoor Track and Field championsh­ip meet record time of 16:23.12 and also anchored the third-place distance medley relay team. Uzamere won the weight throw with a personal best effort of 19.36 meters.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Quinnipiac women’s basketball: The Bobcats rolled to an 81-51 win over Marist to win the MAAC tournament title for the third season in a row. Each of the five seniors had at least one double-digit scoring game with Jen Fay, Aryn McClure and Paula Strautmane combining for 115 points, 57 rebounds and 29 assists in the three games.

2: ECAC honors by Southern Connecticu­t State gymnasts. Hannah Stahbrodt was named the ECAC Gymnast of the Week and Jordan Peloquin was selected as the Rookie of the Week. Stahbrodt’s performanc­e in meets at Temple and Maryland was highlighte­d by school record 9.86 on the beam at Maryland.

3: NCAA appearance­s by New Haven men’s basketball team under head coach Ted Hotaling matching the program record as Sue Grove led the Chargers to the NCAAs in 1986, 1987 and 1989.

3.62: Team grade-point average by Yale field hockey team to earn NFHCA National Academic Team Award.

6: Finishes by SCSU teammates Feiro Onakpoma (men’s triple jump) and Terrell Patterson (men’s mile) at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championsh­ips.

7: Points by sophomore Taylor Strough, including tying goal with 9 seconds left in regulation and gamewinnin­g tally in overtime in Fairfield men’s lacrosse team’s 12-11 win over Bryant.

8: Hits by Wallingfor­d’s Nolan Cloutier in three games for Southern Connecticu­t State baseball team.

9: Strikeouts by Fairfield’s Trey McLoughlin in win over Delaware to earn him MAAC Pitcher of Week honors.

10: Mackenzie Reh had her second 10-point game of the season with six goals and four assists in New Haven women’s lacrosse team’s 22-6 win over Southern Connecticu­t State. Reh was named

IWLCA Division II Offensive National Player of the Week.

15: RBIs by Fairfield senior infielder/catcher Courtney Hankins in first 11 games of the season.

19: Points by Dennis Green in Bridgeport men’s basketball team’s loss to Molloy in ECC title game.

26: Second-half deficit erased by Hartford men’s basketball team before the Hawks lost to UMBC in the America East semifinals.

36: Steals by Hartford women’s basketball team in wins over UMBC and Stony Brook to advance to Friday’s America East title game at Maine with Lindsey Abed had eight and Sierra DaCosta seven.

297: Career draw controls by Yale’s Izzy Nixon, an Ivy League record.

Women’s basketball, Saint Francis at Sacred Heart, Thursday, 6 p.m.: Pioneers take a six-game winning streak into NEC semifinal. Senior Katherine Haines has averaged 18.8 points, 8.8 rebounds during the streak. Women’s lacrosse, No. 6 Middlebury at No. 12 Wesleyan, Saturday, noon: Abby Manning has 13 goals and Caitlin Wood 12 to lead Wesleyan to a 4-0 start.

Men’s lacrosse, Cornell at Yale, Saturday, 1 p.m.: Cornell brings the topscoring offense in the Ivy League into the top five matchup. The Bulldogs lead the conference in penalty killing and man-up scoring percentage.

Men’s basketball, Princeton at Yale, Saturday, 3 p.m.: The Bulldogs swept Princeton in the regular season and a win would put the Bulldogs into Sunday’s Ivy League final.

HOMETOWN FOCUS

Conor Harkins, Greenwich: Senior guard has 15 3-pointers in four NCAA tournament games to help Swarthmore advance to the Division III semifinals. A total of 102 of Harkins’ 124 baskets are 3-pointers this season.
