Residents will discuss the revised proposal for the municipal operations budget at a town meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the multi-purpose room of the municipal center..

The finance board has recommended spending $31.6 million for town operations next fiscal year. This is $385,000 less than the $32 million proposal voters narrowly rejected in an April 11 referendum. During that vote, the $46.4 million school plan and the $1 million capital budget passed.

Under the latest proposal, the tax rate would increase by

1.65 percent. Town and school spending would be just under

$78 million.

At the town meeting, residents will vote to send the proposal to a referendum.
