N.J. firm ac­quires lo­cal in­su­rurer

The Green­wich insurance agency Lampe-Batkin As­so­ci­ates was ac­quired by World Insurance As­so­ci­ates, with both firms fo­cus­ing pri­mar­ily on prop­erty and ca­su­alty cov­er­age. The com­pa­nies did not re­veal financial terms. Lampe Batkin was cre­ated by Hy Lampe in the 1950s and is run by son-in-law, Steve Batkin. Launched in 2012 and based in Tin­ton Falls, N.J., World Insurance As­so­ci­ates has 27 of­fices in eight states, with the agency nearly qua­dru­pling rev­enue over a three-year pe­riod to $18.6 mil­lion in 2017, ac­cord­ing to Inc.
