WeWork files to go public
WeWork, an operator of office spaces for entrepreneurs and remote workers in New York City and cities nationally, confirmed it has filed confidentially with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of stock. WeWork has more than 400,000 members who rent spaces sized from “hot desks” in open areas for use on an as-needed basis, to private offices that can accommodate as many as 250 people. WeWork lost $1.9 billion last year while doubling revenue to $1.8 billion.
