PROGRAM OFFERS INFO ON HEALTH INSURANCE FOR SMALL BIZ

A program addressing the health insurance for small businesses will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Makery Coworking Space in New Milford.

Lynne Ide, director of program and policy at the Universal Health Care Foundation, will present at the wine, cheese and conversation event. She will discuss a bill before the state legislature that would allow the state to leverage its negotiation power to provide dependable, quality health plans designed for small businesses.

Small businesses employ more than 700,000 people in Connecticut, and yet less than half can afford to offer health insurance to their employees, according to the press release.
