CEOs: State still near bottom

Connecticu­t again ranked in the bottom five states as a locale to operate a business, according to the 2019 installmen­t of an annual survey by Chief Executive magazine, which has its main office in Stamford. New York and California ranked last on the survey, with Connecticu­t ahead of New Jersey and Illinois and one slot behind Massachuse­tts. Texas and Florida again led the nation for business climate, with Tennessee leapfroggi­ng ahead of North Carolina and Indiana for the third rung. New Hampshire ranked 26th to lead the Northeast.
