CEOs: State still near bottom
Connecticut again ranked in the bottom five states as a locale to operate a business, according to the 2019 installment of an annual survey by Chief Executive magazine, which has its main office in Stamford. New York and California ranked last on the survey, with Connecticut ahead of New Jersey and Illinois and one slot behind Massachusetts. Texas and Florida again led the nation for business climate, with Tennessee leapfrogging ahead of North Carolina and Indiana for the third rung. New Hampshire ranked 26th to lead the Northeast.
