Ridgefield brewery goes all solar

Nod Hill Brewery said it is the first brewery in Connecticut to be powered entirely by solar energy after installing a nearly 300-kilowatt photovoltaic array on a building it shares in Ridgefield with the assistance of Smart Roofs Solar of Newtown. Under founding partners David Kaye and Robert Kaye, Nod Hill is on track to brew nearly 2,000 barrels of beer this year. The Nod Hill Brewery taproom is open Thursday through Sunday at 137 Ethan Allen Highway and food trucks providing catering.
