⏩ DERBY MAN CHARGED IN SANDY HOOK ASSAULT
A Derby man was charged with assault following an on-thejob dispute in Sandy Hook last week.
William C. Conroy-Delarosa, 20, was arrested last Thursday after Newtown police responded to Curtis Packaging Corporation on Berkshire Road around 6 a.m. for a reported assault.
Police said they determined that Conroy-Delarosa, a temporary employee, had assaulted another employee. Lt. Aaron Bahamonde said it was a “minor dispute.”
The victim was transported to the hospital for injuries, but Conroy-Delarosa fled before police arrived.
Newtown police later found him at his Derby home and took him to headquarters, where he was charged with second-degree assault — a Class D felony.
Conroy-Delarosa was held on $5,000 bond and transported to state Superior Court in Danbury for arraignment.
He pleaded not guilty and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for May 30.
