Stan­ley chooses Texas for fac­tory

Af­ter ac­quir­ing the Crafts­man line of tools in 2017 from bank­rupt Sears Hold­ings, Stan­ley Black & Decker plans to open a new man­u­fac­tur­ing plant in Fort Worth, Texas, that will em­ploy 500 peo­ple. Stan­ley Black & Decker is based in New Bri­tain, where its prod­uct man­u­fac­tur­ing in­cludes Crafts­man mea­sur­ing tapes. The com­pany re­cently opened a Hart­ford lab to de­velop pro­duc­tion tech­niques. Stan­ley Black & Decker has 30 man­u­fac­tur­ing plants in the United States and 70 more over­seas, with about 60,800 work­ers.
