Stanley chooses Texas for factory

After acquiring the Craftsman line of tools in 2017 from bankrupt Sears Holdings, Stanley Black & Decker plans to open a new manufactur­ing plant in Fort Worth, Texas, that will employ 500 people. Stanley Black & Decker is based in New Britain, where its product manufactur­ing includes Craftsman measuring tapes. The company recently opened a Hartford lab to develop production techniques. Stanley Black & Decker has 30 manufactur­ing plants in the United States and 70 more overseas, with about 60,800 workers.
