LYNN DEMING PARK SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS WRAPPING UP

New Milford is wrapping up its safety improvements at Lynn Deming Park in time for Memorial Day weekend, Mayor Pete Bass said this week.

The new gate installations are being finished and the WiFi and computerization is happening soon, he said. Eversource has blocked off its parcel connecting to the park to prevent people from just walking in.

Town Council approved spending $70,500 from the Landfill Settlement Fund in February to add security measures, such as the gates and cameras, following crowds last Fourth of July . The New Milford Police Department will have more officers patrolling the park during the holiday weekend.
