Study: State’s beer in­dus­try taps 21K jobs

Beer brew­ers, dis­trib­u­tors and re­tail­ers con­trib­ute $3.1 bil­lion to Connecticu­t’s econ­omy an­nu­ally and nearly $600 mil­lion in tax rev­enue, ac­cord­ing to a study pub­lished with the sup­port of two in­dus­try trade groups, while sup­port­ing more than 21,300 jobs. John Dun­ham & As­so­ci­ates ex­trap­o­lated the es­ti­mates from fed­eral data as part of a na­tional study backed by the Beer In­sti­tute and Na­tional Beer Whole­salers Al­liance. Na­tion­ally, the in­dus­try em­ploys 211,000 peo­ple directly, re­searchers found.
