Area firm gets export accolade

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross bestowed one of nearly 50 President’s “E” Awards for exporting to Owl Cyber Defense Solutions, which designs systems to wall off data from hackers. President John F. Kennedy created the “E” Awards in 1961 to recognize companies that expand exports of innovative products that have a broad impact, with recent Connecticut winners including ACMT of Manchester, Beekley Medical of Bristol and WorldBusinessCapital of Hartford. Owl moved its headquarters to Danbury last year from Ridgefield.
