Sing-a-thon benefits food pantry

The third-annual Joyful Sound sing-a-thon raised more than $2,000 for the Bethel Community Food Pantry.

Local musicians performed for five hours at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on May 4. All donations went to the pantry.

Performing in the festival were St. Thomas’ choir, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Musicians, Steve O’Tree & Friends, Julie Sorcek, Bill Wisnowski, Maddie Golda, Tim McGrath, Jane Mead, the Saffron Quartet, Cate Wormell, Tamanna Aravind, Erik Tonner, Karie Neville and Lara Schuler.

This year’s festival honored the memory of Howard C. Blayney, who began organizing annual music festivals to benefit the pantry in 2017. The Bethel Community Food Pantry was founded at St. Thomas’ and distribute­s food and other necessitie­s at Bethel United Methodist Church.
