CITY TO TRAIN VOLUNTEERS FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM

Training sessions will be held beginning next week for volunteers interested in joining the city’s emergency response team.

The first set of classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. June 3, 5, 10, 12 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 8.

A second set of classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 14 and from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16, 18, 23, and 25.

Volunteers must attend one set of classes in full to become a member of the Danbury Certified Emergency Response Team and help respond to community disasters.

The Danbury Department of Health and Human Services, Danbury Police Department, Danbury Fire Department, and Danbury Emergency Medical Services will host the sessions.
