GARDEN CLUB WINS STATE AND NATIONAL AWARDS

The Pomperaug Valley Garden Club has received state and national awards for its cookbook, “The Garden of Eating,” which celebrates the group’s 90th anniversary.

The National Garden Clubs, Inc. awarded the club a certificate of merit and an award from he Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc.

The cookbook celebrated the club’s activities through the years with photos and 200 recipes and photos. It also includes gardening sayings and tips.

The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc. also presented certificates of achievement to the club for various projects.
