Area firm opens non-GMO facility

Pharmco has begun rail and truck shipments from what it says is the largest storage facility for certified non-GMO sugar cane alcohol in the country, in Carteret, N.J., where it can store 800,000 gallons of the food ingredient. Pharmco is operated by Greenfield Global and sells specialty ingredients and chemicals. Greenfield Global said the Pharmco facility is the only one of its kind on the East Coast. The company also operates packaging facilities at Pharmco’s Brookfield plant and in Kentucky.
