IRS promises improved withholding form
The Internal Revenue Service unveiled a reconstituted draft version of its Form W-4 for 2020, which the IRS stated will make it easier The redesigned Form W-4 no longer uses the concept of withholding allowances, which was previously tied to the amount of the personal exemption which is no longer a central feature of the federal tax code following enactment of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act of 2017. The IRS is accepting comment on the revisions through June, with plans to release an updated draft in July and the finalized Form W-4 in November.
