FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE LIFE OF SANDY HOOK VICTIM

The fifth annual Catherine’s “Butterfly Party” will feature pet adoption and various animal-related activities. It will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Fairfield Hills Campus.

The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary hosts the free festival in honor of Catherine Hubbard, who was killed during the Sandy Hook tragedy. The event benefits the animal sanctuary and falls on what would have been Hubbard’s 13th birthday.

At least 28 animal rescue organizati­ons will provide more than 100 pets up for adoption. Live wildlife demonstrat­ions, pet-related vendors, local artisans, food trucks, live music, entertainm­ent and endless activities for kids will also be offered.

Pet adoption will be offered. At last year’s event more than 6,000 people attended and more than 70 animals found homes.
