Salesforce gets Tableau for $15B
Customer relationship software vendor Salesforce is spending $15.3 billion to acquire Tableau, a Seattle company founded with software to help people analyze and visualize complex data sets. Some 86,000 companies use Tableau’s platform including Charles Schwab, Netflix and Verizon Communications, with Salesforce expecting Tableau to add revenue between $350 million and
$400 million in its 2020 fiscal year that ends next January. Salesforce earned
$1.1 billion in fiscal 2019 on revenue of $13.3 billion.
