⏩ Huskies-Duke to begin football home-and-home series in 2023,

The UConn football team continues to add Atlantic Coast Conference opponents to its future nonconference schedules.

The school announced a home-and-home series with Duke beginning with a Sept. 2, 2023 game at Rentschler Field in East Hartford with the return game set for Sept. 14, 2024.

Barring any changes to the schedule, UConn will have three games against ACC opponents in 2023 with a home game with North Carolina State and game at Boston College previously announced. There is also a scheduled game at Clemson on the

2021 schedule.

The Huskies are 2-0 all-time against the Blue Devils as UConn defeated Duke 22-20 in 2004 and

45-15 in 2007. during the

2004 season at Rentschler Field and won a 45-15 decision at Duke in the 2007 season opener.

Duke has played in bowl games in six of the last seven seasons including a win over American Athletic Conference member Temple on Dec. 27, 2018.

ALEXANDER, CHEA COMMIT

A pair of Florida Class of 2020 prospects announced their commitments to UConn on social media on Monday.

Marques Alexander out of Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., was the first to make his commitment known and then First Coast defensive back Alfred Chea made it two commitments in the same day.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Alexander had 50 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, six sacks and three fumble recoveries as a junior.

Chea is also 6-foot-2 and he fits the prototype for defensive backs being recruited by UConn coach Randy Edsall’s staff. He also has experience with the track team for Jacksonville-based First Coast.
