Honor veterans on Flag Day
Our beautiful flag has flown over so many parts of the world and continues to fly over the Land of the Free. Those who down through the ages have paid the supreme sacrifice of life, body or limb deserve our never-ending prayers and ceaseless thanks.
Veterans have dedicated their lives to what our flag stands for, and merit our complete cooperation. The valor and suffering that has made our country strong is the flag of the United States of America.
The public is invited to attend the Catholic War Veterans, on Friday, June 14, at 6 p.m., for Flag Day Services at 2 Shalvoy Lane, Danbury.

Tolerating ‘left stand’ to get local news
Orchids to Richard W. Zank of New Fairfield for his letter June 4 in The News-Times: “Conservative writers needed for ‘refreshing outlook’”
He hits the nail on the head for the many thousands of us who tolerate your left/far left stand just to get local news. Journalism used to be impartial, showing no favoritism, but today it is unacceptable and even embarrassing to read news print and watch TV lean so blatantly to the left.
