Notable: Wesleyan still has a chance at the NESCAC title, but even with a win, the Cardinals would need undefeated Middlebury to lose to 44 Tufts to earn a share of the title . ... Trinity has beaten Wesleyan four straight times and haven’t allowed a touchdown to the Cardinals in the last two meetings . ... Last year’s meeting was not for the faint of heart as the teams combined for 401 yards of total offense and the quarterbac­ks were sacked 13 times . ... Trinity and Wesleyan rank first and second in the NESCAC in passing defense. Trinity leads the NESCAC in scoring offense (32.1 points) and total defense (261.9 yards per game) while Wesleyan is second with 14 intercepti­ons and third in 19 sacks . ... Trinity’s offense is led by sophomore quarterbac­k Seamus Lambert (1,904 passing yards, 17 TDs) and Tijani Harris (559 rushing yards) while four of the top nine tacklers are also sophmores. Not to be outdone, Wesleyan’s top passer (Ashton Scott), receiver (Matthew Simco) and allpurpose yardage leader (David Estevez) are sophomores.

Notable: WestConn’s postseason hopes vanished in the past two weeks with backtoback losses against the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the MASCAC, leaving the Colonials to play out the stretch and hope to finish with a second straight 82 season. The loss to UMassDartm­outh last week included a struggling passing attack for the first time this year, though WestConn failed on a twopoint conversion that would have tied the game at 1414 early in the fourth quarter. Colonials quarterbac­ks went a combined 14for46 for 175 yards and will hope to bounce back against a Fitchburg squad that broke a sixgame losing streak last week.
