Can you smell what WWE is cooking?

WWE's Friday Night SmackDown Live is making its long-awaited return to the Mohegan Sun Arena on Jan. 7, 2022. This is the first staging of the iconic wrestling program in Uncasville in almost three years.

The last staging at Mohegan Sun took place on March 26, 2019 but more recently, WWE's Friday Night SmackDown Live was staged at Hartford's XL Center on Nov. 19. Headlining the evening will be a three-way fight between Drew McIntyre and The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and King Woods, and Roman Reigns and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. Rounding out the double main event will be a matchup for the SmackDown Women’s Championship title featuring Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair.

Stars like Jeff Hardy, Sheamus and Naomi will be on hand and make appearances throughout the evening.

This isn't the only major WWE news in Connecticut lately.

The wrestling organization confirmed plans to move its Stamford headquarters by late 2022. The company's new location will be at 677 Washington Blvd. in downtown Stamford, the former residence of banking giant UBS. WWE will be sharing the more than 120,000 square feet of new leasing space with companies like tobacco giant Philip Morris International.

Tickets for WWE's Friday Night SmackDown Live will go on sale Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 10 a.m.
