State police report more than 1,000 calls on Thanksgiving
State police responded to approximately 3,000 calls over the past two days, according to a release.
Connecticut State Police said they received 2,980 calls for service on Wednesday and Thursday, with 1,139 of those calls coming on Thanksgiving Day.
Over the course of two day, police said, troopers responded to 117 speeding violations and 248 other hazardous violations. They noted that other hazardous violations include unsafe lane changes, following too closely and cell phone usage.
Police said troopers made 20 arrests for driving under the influence, 12 of which took place on Thanksgiving. Troopers investigated 200 accidents over the past two days, 22 of which had corresponding injuries and one of which was fatal.
