On November 25, 2021 George Kilberg, loving father of two, passed away peacefully at the age of 91.
George was born September 13, 1930 in Bronx, NY to Herman and Anna (Ossinoff) Kilberg. He received a degree in agriculture from Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, NY. He began a farm named Seventh Heaven Poultry in Danbury CT until 1960 when he changed careers and went into the real estate business and began Country Homes Realty in 1962.
He was married to Lillian Chalfen on October 19, 1952 and later to his second wife Susan Flayderman and returned to his first wife Lillian Keane after Susan’s passing.
George’s greatest passion was fishing. His greatest joy was when he finally purchased his own commercial fishing boat with two close friends in Marathon, FL. He’d spend months each year sharing his excitement with family and friends. He enjoyed the arts and would attend symphonies and even clog dancing to country music. He was an avid tennis player and fan. George was a world traveler and has been around the world enjoying each country’s individual cultures and histories.
George was preceded in death by his father Herman and his mother Anna and his second wife Susan. He is survived by his wife Lillian, his two Children Jeff and his wife Marina, Amy and her husband Stephen and his sister Lola, grandchildren Zak, Quinn, James, Sonia and Alyssa and two great grandchildren, Eily and Hailee.
There will be a grave side ceremony at the United Jewish Center Cemetery located at 250 Grays Bridge RD, Brookfield, CT at 12 noon Monday November 29, 2021. There will be a gathering rejoicing his life following the funeral at Jeff and Marina’s home at 5pm.
