Brookfield man charged in Newtown hit-and-run

NEWTOWN — A Brookfield man is facing charges stemming from a hit-and-run on Church Hill Road two months ago that seriously injured a bicyclist.

Sazo Ajdinoski turned himself in to Newtown police on an outstandin­g warrant for his arrest last Wednesday.

The 49-year-old was involved in an Oct. 2 crash on Church Hill Road, during which authoritie­s say he made an improper turn, struck a bicyclist and left the scene.

Police said the bicyclist sustained “serious physical injury.”

Ajdinoski has been charged with evading responsibi­lity and making an improper turn, as well as interferin­g with an officer/ resisting arrest.

He was released after posting 10 percent of a $500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at state Superior Court in Danbury on Dec. 15, according to police.
