Danbury Museum prepares for Hat City Ball

- By Kendra Baker

DANBURY — The Danbury Museum & Historical Society is preparing for its upcoming Hat City Ball.

The annual event will take place Feb. 11 at the Amber Room Colonnade on Stacey Road to celebrate “all things Danbury,” while raising funds for the city’s museum and historical society headquartered at 43 Main St., according to Friends of the Danbury Museum.

After holding a virtual ball last year due to COVID-19, Danbury Museum & Historical Society director Brigid Guertin said she’s looking forward to the upcoming in-person event.

“We are back in person for a lovely evening supporting the museum and our Danbury community,” she said, noting that the 2020 Hat City Ball — “one of the city’s last big public gatherings” before the pandemic — had a great turnout.

Tickets for the 2022 Hat City Ball are $150 each and can be purchased at https://bit.ly/2022HatCityBall Tickets. Event sponsorships ranging from $500 to $25,000 are also available for purchase.

Those who purchase tickets will have the option of a traditional Hat City Ball experience with food, music and fellowship at the Amber Room, or opting for a to-go meal package with all the same dining options, which can be retrieved before the Feb. 11 event.
