Call for artists for juried open art show

The Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio New Milford Commission on the Arts is having a call for artists for the art gallery’s juried open art show for painters, mixed media and sculptors from Jan. 15 through Jan. 29.

Delivery of all of the artwork will also be from 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 9.

An opening reception takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 15. Awards for the artists’ artwork will be announced at 3 p.m. Jan. 15. No works will be accepted after the deadline.

New Milford resident, and a former chairman of the art department for Danbury Public Schools, is the judge. Awards will be at the discretion of the judge.

Accepted mediums include: Watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, mixed media, and sculpture.

No photographs or prints will be accepted. There is a $25 entry per artist for one or two pieces of original two-dimensional art or sculpture that are no larger than 1,000 square inches. The maximum limit is equal to 26-by-36 inches including the frame of the artwork.
