Police dog finds missing juvenile
BROOKFIELD — A local police dog was brought in to help find a missing juvenile in a nearby town who went for a walk without their cellphone and didn’t return home, according to police.
Around 1:15 p.m. Monday, the police department’s canine unit was asked to help a neighboring agency find a missing juvenile. K-9 Major and his handler responded to the area.
Police said when the duo arrived, officers learned the juvenile went for a walk and hadn’t returned for about 21⁄2 hours. The officers said without a way to track the juvenile, like through a cellphone, a police dog was called in.
Major quickly tracked the juvenile and found them unhurt about a halfmile from their home, police said. The juvenile was brought home by patrol units and reunited with family members.
