Legalized marijuana

-

Recreational marijuana became legal in Connecticut on July 1. However, the rollout is not an immediate marijuana free-for-all as recreational marijuana dispensaries will not become legal in Connecticut until late 2022.

Currently, Connecticut residents 21 and older are allowed to openly possess 1.5 ounces of marijuana and an additional 5 ounces of marijuana in a locked container.

Edible or vaped marijuana must have no more than an equal amount of THC, the psychoactive substance in marijuana.

Since the beginning of October, residents 18 and older are allowed to cultivate their own marijuana for medical use.
