UConn-Xavier rescheduled to Feb. 11

UConn’s game at Xavier, originally scheduled for Dec. 28, has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 11 at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati at 7 p.m., the Big East announced on Tuesday.

The game will be televised by FS1.

The Big East is also attempting to find a reschedule date for UConn’s slated home game against Butler, originally scheduled for Jan. 1, but also postponed due to Covid issues.

UConn (10-3, 1-1 Big East) is scheduled to host Marquette three days earlier on Feb. 8, and plays St. John’s at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Feb. 13 at noon. The Huskies host Xavier, currently ranked No. 22 in the AP poll, the following Saturday, Feb. 19.

UConn is slated to return to action on Saturday, to play No. 24 Seton Hall at noon at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It will be the Huskies’

first game since a Dec. 21 win at Marquette.

Will UConn have a new teammate by the time it faces Xavier — or even Seton Hall? Alex Karaban, a Class of 2022 commit, is pondering an early enrollment at UConn. Karaban, a 6-foot-7 forward, is currently awaiting IMG Academy to finalize his grades and transcripts, and will move on from there.
