Yale, Quinnipiac postpone men’s hockey games
Neither Yale nor Quinnipiac will play men’s hockey this weekend.
The Bulldogs announced that their games at Princeton and Quinnipiac have been postponed “due to COVID-19 concerns and safety protocols within the Yale men’s hockey program.”
Brown had already postponed its weekend games, including Friday’s at Quinnipiac, “due to health and safety concerns.” No makeup dates were announced. Yale (3-9) had returned from the holiday break at the Holiday Face-Off in Milwaukee on Dec. 28-29, but its New Year’s Day game against Merrimack was canceled “for nonCOVID reasons.”
No. 2 Quinnipiac (14-1-3), meanwhile, has not played since Dec. 11 and is next scheduled to compete Jan. 14 at home against Harvard.
SHU MEN’S BASKETBALL CANCELS 2
This week's Northeast Conference games for the Sacred Heart men's basketball team at Central Connecticut and Wagner have been canceled. The Pioneers are unable to compete due to COVID protocols, necessitating the cancellations.
Per the NEC's Cancellation and Forfeit Policy, the game will be deemed a forfeit. Sacred Heart will be assigned a loss in the conference standings for both games while Central Connecticut and Wagner are assigned a win. By NCAA policy, forfeits will not change a team's official win-loss record, nor will they impact statistics or coaching records.
