George F. Devine

George Francis Devine, 76, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, passed away on January 9, 2022 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

George was born Mt. Kisco, New York to Howard and Geraldine Devine on June 10, 1945. He married Mary Roberta Devine on October 15, 1966, in New Fairfield, CT. He worked as a police officer for the town of Bethel and New Fairfield for over 20 years.

George enjoyed spending time with his family, coached and participated with his boys in sports when they were younger and followed their teams throughout high school. George and Mary enjoyed traveling to casinos, road trips, and spending time with their grandkids. George and Mary moved to Florida to be closer with their family. George loved the beach and sunsets. He loved nothing more than spending time with his granddaughters. He touched many lives with his generosity, trust, and loyalty. He will forever be remembered. He is now reunited with the love of his life, his wife Mary.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Devine. Brothers, Martin, Howard, and William. Sister Beverly.

George is survived by sons, Scott and Donald Devine, Scott’s wife Angela, Scott’s daughters Alexandra and Samantha, and Donald’s daughters Jenna and Taylor. He is also survived by his sister Geraldine Boucher. Brother-in-law Thomas and Barbara Peck. Sister-in-law Helen Devine. As well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 Friday, January 14th at St. Edwards Church, New Fairfield, CT with the Fr. Timothy A. Iannacone of St. Edwards, officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield, CT. Arrangements are by Green Funeral Home.
