Claire Haupt, Darien: The Blue Wave’s senior goalie made 29 saves in Darien’s 3-1 loss to New Canaan Monday at the Darien Ice House. Haupt has helped the Wave start the season 5-1.

Maggie Swanson, Fairfiield co-op: The freshman had a hand in all three of the Fairfield co-op’s goals, scoring twice and assisting once during a 4-3 loss to the Masuk co-op on Saturday

Caitlin Tully, New Canaan: Scored two of the Rams’ three goals, including the game-winner with 10:16 remaining, in a 3-1 victory over Darien on Monday. The senior also scored in a 5-1 win over defending Rhode Island state champion LaSalle Academy on Saturday, and has eight goals in New Canaan’s first eight games.

GAMES TO WATCH

West Haven/SHA at ETB (Newington Ice Arena), Friday, 8:30: Crossconfe­rence games are plentiful this winter and this one pits the SCC against the CCC. West Haven/SHA is 6-3, while ETB remains unbeaten at 4-0-2.

Trumbull/St. Joseph at New Canaan (Darien Ice House), Saturday, 5:50: A rematch of one of last year’s FCIAC semifinal games. Trumbull has continued winning with three victories in its first four games, while New Canaan is riding a 19-game win streak dating back to last year’s third game.

Greenwich at Stamford/Westhill/ Staples (Terry Conners), Saturday, 6:20: A key FCIAC clash pits perennial league contender Greenwich against the red-hot Stamford/Westhill/Staples co-op, which has won seven of its first eight games.

ETB at Simsbury (Internatio­nal Skating Center), Saturday, 7:30:

The last four meetings between these two teams have resulted in two ties and a pair of 2-1 wins for Simsbury, one of which ended in OT.

Suffield co-op at New Canaan (Terry Conners), Monday, 11 a.m.:

The defending CCC champ takes on the defending FCIAC champ in a morning match-up at Terry Conners. Suffield lost its first three games but broke out in a big way when it beat Amity 10-1 on Saturday.

Darien at West Haven/SHA (Bennett Rink), Tuesday, 5:15:

Always an FCIAC and state title contender, Darien travels up I-95 to take on the defending SCC champion. The Westie Sharks will also host FCIAC leading New Canaan on Jan. 22.

Avon at ETB (Newington Ice Arena), Wednesday, 5:10:

Avon and ETB played to a 2-2 overtime tie on Dec. 15. They were both ranked in the top five of the power point standings heading into Wednesday’s action.

Darien at Stamford/Westhill/Staples (Terry Conners), 8:

Another key contest in the FCIAC playoff race. The Blue Wave is in a stretch of 11 games against teams with winning records.
