-

Local poets are going to gather in the main program room of the Ridgefield Library at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 with Ridgefield Poet Laureate Barb Jennes for a “Bang a Can Poetry Slam,” event.

The celebration will be similar to the event that took place on the library’s lawn, June 21 for the Make Music Day movement.

Attendees to the poetry slam event will be able to watch and listen to an evening of readings by the poets, who will be hungry for the attendees approval of the poets’ poems.

The poets will either be in-person for the program or attending via Zoom in a hybrid format.

Attendees will have a can and a mallet to express their approval of each of the poets’ poems.

People are invited to join the event and make some noise.

The presentation will also be livestreamed on the Ridgefield Poet Laureate Facebook page.

Register at ridgefieldlibrary.org, to receive the Zoom link to the program, or call the library at 203-438-2282.
