TOP PERFORMERS

Donovan Clingan, Bristol Central: Had 40 points, 22 rebounds and five blocked shots in the Rams’ 70-47 win at East Hartford. Also had a triple-double (24 points, 16 rebounds, 10 blocked shots) in a 53-44 win over Springfield Central (Mass.) at the HoopHall Classic.

Dominick Dao, Terryville: His 51 points helped Terryville top Gilbert 70-47. He also had 27 points in a 55-39 win over Wamogo.

Tyler Betsey, Windsor: Scored 31 points and had a big blocked shot in overtime to help the Warriors outlast East Catholic 70-66.

Keyshawn Mitchell, Capital Prep: Had 20 points and 25 rebounds in the Trailblazers’ 81-37 win over Innovation. Also had another double-double (30 points, 17 rebounds) in Capital Prep’s 93-50 win over MLC.

Kemani Thompson, SMSA: Poured in 34 points in SMSA’s 73-57 win over Windsor Locks.

Riley Fox, Conard: Scored a schoolrecord I 50 points, in three quarters, in Conard’s 106-54 win over Bulkeley. Ramon Manning held the previous record of 41 points set during the 2000-01 season. Fox also scored 29 points in a 64-63 loss to Farmington.

Yianni Baribeau, Killingly: Had 20 points, 23 rebounds and five blocks in Killingly’s 45-36 win over Griswold.

Max Rosenberg and Jake Palluzzi, Branford: Rosenberg hit a layup at the buzzer to help Branford win at Classical Magnet 58-56. Palluzzi scored 32 points in Branford’s win at Classical Magnet, then had 40 points for the second time this season in a 61-42 win over North Haven.

Ismael Castillo, Platt Tech: Had a double-double (22 points, 20 rebounds) in the Panthers’ 72-58 victory at Wilcox Tech.

Savahn Warren, New London: Made a putback at the buzzer to help the Whalers defeat Norwich Free Academy 62-60, handing the Wildcats their first loss.

Chase Geremia, Hand: Had a tripledouble (13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists) in Hand’s 69-66 win at Wilton.

GAMES TO WATCH

Amity at Notre Dame-West Haven, Wednesday, 7 p.m.: Amity’s undefeated start includes a win over Wilbur Cross. This will be the Spartans’ toughest game thus far, going into a tough Alumni Hall environment against Timaury Gay, Mekhi Conner and the rest of the Green Knights.

Hillhouse vs. Wilbur Cross at the Floyd Little Athletic Center, Thursday, 7 p.m.: Cross had to withstand a lastsecond shot to escape its rival last month in what was an uptempo, entertaining game. Expect more of a defensive battle than last time out.

Windsor at Ridgefield, Saturday, 3 p.m.: These are the kind of nonconference games between top-10 teams we missed out on last season. Tyler Betsey and Prince Samuels and the rest of the Warriors make the trip westbound to take on Matt Knachel, Dylan Veillette and the rest of the Ridgefield team that will need a supreme defensive effort here to pull off the victory.
