Different truths

-

I felt I needed to respond to Rabbi Sarah Marion’s letter. I am no theologian but I do read the Bible. Rabbi Marion quotes Exodus 21:22. For starters I don’t know what translation of Bible she used, but I looked up that verse in six different translations and none of them used the word miscarriage. All six say born premature or child came out. Nothing about the child being dead. If you read the next verse it states if there is injury then life for life, eye for eye, etc. — clearing showing that the fetus is a person. I believe Rabbi Marion means well but is wrong in her interpretation. Psalm 139 also shows God’s involvement and supervision when a child is in the womb. Jeremiah 1:5 God spoke about forming Jeremiah in the womb. Even science itself shows a fetus is life. Fourteen days after conception, a child’s eyes are forming; 18 days heartbeat. Clearly a life. I pray Rabbi Marion would see the truth.
