George Tremblay, age 89, a 60+ year resident of Brewster, NY, died Monday, August 29, 2022, in Mt. Kisco, NY.

George was born December 3, 1932, in Quebec, Canada to Claude and Matilde ( Joyal) Tremblay. He graduated from schools in Canada. On June 13, 1958, he married Denise Routhier at Ayers-Cliff in Quebec.

George came to the United States in 1955 with his brothers to help clean up trees after the Great Danbury Flood. He started General Tree Experts and Tremson Corp. in the 1970’s, working throughout the New York and Connecticu­t area. He was owner of Vails Grove Golf Course and he could be found on Sundays golfing and landscapin­g. He enjoyed running his businesses, operating his machinery, and challengin­g himself with DYI projects. He was an engineer at heart and a visionary and influencer of his time, contributi­ng to the growth and evolution of his industry.

enjoyed time spent traveling in their motorhome. He was an avid golfer, a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, enjoyed visits to Foxwoods.

Besides his wife Denise of 64 years George is survived by his 5 children, Marjolaine Tremblay of Brewster, NY, Marilyn Tremblay of North Salem, NY, George Tremblay Jr. (Christina) of Stormville, NY, John Tremblay (Lisa) of Brewster, NY, and Robert Tremblay (Trina) of Stormville, NY; a sister Alice Tetreault (Leonard) of Quebec, Canada; 9 grandchild­ren, Markus, Stephen and Nathalie, Erika and Tyler, Dylan and Deanna, Pierre and Aaron. George was predecease­d by his granddaugh­ter Claire.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY earlier that morning from 9 till 11:00 a.m. A private cremation was held earlier.
