SHARING A THANKSGIVING BOUNTY

-

DANBURY — Volunteers on Monday passed out turkeys and other food that will go on the Thanksgiving plates of local families.

Roughly 100 people were lined up down Terrace Place about 45 minutes before Daily Bread Food Pantry was scheduled to begin its annual Thanksgiving distribution at noon.

Daily Bread gives out around 50 pounds of food to families in need during its distribution days from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, according to its website. The pantry is located behind St. James Church.

An estimated 2,000 people have in years past eaten the food distributed to families for Thanksgiving.
